Today we are excited to announce the release of NetHooks Multiple Profiles. Users on NetHooks can now create unlimited number of professional profiles allowing them to showcase different skills and interests. NetHooks Multiple Profiles comes with a smart tagging functionality that allows users to effectively present their profiles to specific target users.
For instance, if a user decides to apply for a position at a company, he can create a profile for that company, highlighting his experience and approach specific for that position and ‘tag’ the profile, so that only those from that company will see the highly specific profile. This is the first time that Multiple Profiles are being introduced into professional networking, giving users the ability to present high quality profiles to specific target groups, increasing their chances of getting a job, internship or acquiring business leads.
Over the last few months, we have been gathering feedback and input from professionals on Facebook and we are excited to officially launch our Professional Networking application. This is the first of our Open Network Applications which give users access to their professional profile and network while on other social networking sites. In the coming weeks, we will be releasing similar Professional Networking applications on other networking sites including Bebo, Friendster, MySpace, HI5 and Orkut.
You can now have a “Professional” tab on Facebook. How cool is that!
You can access all your connections and network with them from the app itself
You can also search for new connections and start building your professional network on Facebook.
View and apply for jobs and internships through the app
But the best part is, you get to keep your Social and Professional profile separate. So check it out and keep us updated with any new feature request that you can think of.
Over the last month we have been working on updating the Profile pages to improve visibility and organization of information. We have finally completed the redesign and I think we are satisfied with how it looks, at least for now. Here are some of the changes that are currently live on the site.
Just another way NetHooks is making networking more effective. New users now can easily register for a NetHooks account without actually going through the usual registration process. Through Facebook Connect and LinkedIn Url, users can easily import their existing profile into NetHooks at registration.
We understand that users spend fair share of their time creating profiles on sites such as Facebook and LinkedIn. So instead of subjecting our users to create yet another profile, new users can now simply import their LinkedIn or Facebook profile to their NetHooks profile. This will allow NetHooks users to spend more time interacting with others and building a stronger profile.
Among other fixes that we have done on the messaging system, I am thrilled to report that NetHooks has made it easier for users to view their incoming messages directly on their email client without having to go to the NetHooks website to read it. This is actually one of my personal favorite updates among all the others.
We want to inform everyone that you may experience extra delay in accessing some pages such as Connection page and Connection Request Accept box on NetHooks website. We are currently working on the issue and should get the site up, in speed very soon.
We are finally launching our Alpha release - NetHooks My Professional Network facebook app.
The introduction of professional networking on Facebook is one of the first steps NetHooks is taking to provide NetHooks users the ability to access their data and network externally through applications. The introduction of professional networking on social networking sites such as Facebook is in line with NetHooks’ vision to create an effective networking portal and make professional networking more convenient for users. NetHooks will soon be releasing their Professional Networking application on Bebo, MySpace, Hi5, Orkut and Friendster.
NetHooks’ My Professional Network application allows users to engage in professional networking right on the application without having to visit the main NetHooks website.
One of the unique features of NetHooks Facebook application is the ability for users to easily join NetHooks without having to go through the registration process. The application is also setup with an auto login feature which allows users to enter NetHooks website without having to input their username and password.
By using NetHooks professional networking application, users on Facebook will be able to search and network with professionals outside their Facebook network. Users are able to connect, contact and send recommendations to other professionals from the application.
Users’ privacy is important to NetHooks, especially in having a professional networking application on a social networking site. When using the My Professional Network application on Facebook, users’ Facebook profiles are kept private and are not linked to their professional profile.
We will continue to update the application over the next few weeks based on users feedback and suggestions. We are looking forward to an official launch soon.
Over the past months NetHooks team has been working hard to implement users’ feedback and suggestions on the site. We have just completed a whole lot of changes on NetHooks from design to features and functionalities. Starting from the next few days, you will start seeing some of the changes that will be implemented on the site.
Thank you to all our users who have taken time to express ways that we can make the site better and more effective for users. Keep an eye out for our updates and if you don’t already have an account, we invite you to sign-up for our private beta.
NetHooks is getting ready for some major updates on our site. So check back in the next week or so to find out some of the new features that we will be rolling out soon.
Like we mentioned previously, Brenda McLaren, one of our co-founders was interviewed during the Mashable Open Awards event. In the video, Brenda shared some information on our future plans and our vision for NetHooks. To view the full article on Mashable, click here
